Easy Establishment
SOS 400® germinates in soil temperatures as low as the mid-40s°F, making it an excellent choice for late-season overseeding and extending green turf throughout the cool season.
For best results:
- Seed in the fall as warm-season turf enters dormancy.
- Seed at 10 to 15 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Vertically mow and scalp existing Bermudagrass before seeding to maximize seed-to-soil contact.
- Keep the seedbed consistently moist during germination.
Under favorable conditions, germination typically begins within 3 to 5 days and establishment is completed in just over a week. As overnight temperatures consistently reach 60 to 65°F in late spring, SOS 400® naturally transitions out, allowing the permanent warm-season turf to recover.
