NEWS: Barenbrug USA welcomes Cassie Reed as Product Development and Trials Manager

We are pleased to announce that Cassie Reed has joined Barenbrug USA as our new Product Development and Trials Manager. Cassie relocated from Indianapolis to Albany for the role.

Cassie brings a strong background in turfgrass research, product development, and field trial management, with experience spanning both cool- and warm-season grasses across research, sales, and industry settings.

Most recently, Cassie served as Midwest Sales Representative and Turfgrass Development Lead with Gowan USA, where she managed distributor and customer relationships across a 13-state territory while also evaluating active ingredient opportunities for turfgrass and ornamental applications. In that dual role, she designed and coordinated field trials with university researchers and industry cooperators, analyzed trial data to guide product positioning, and informed commercialization strategies.

Prior to Gowan, Cassie worked as a Research Assistant with Texas A&M AgriLife Turfgrass Research, conducting field and greenhouse trials on Bermudagrass, Zoysiagrass, and St. Augustine, and presenting research results at field days and conferences. She also spent time with Texas A&M Athletics as Sports Turf Field Staff, and earlier in her career served as an R&D Turfgrass Specialist with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, where she managed breeder seed fields, led agronomic support for Kentucky bluegrass seed production growers nationwide, and coordinated with field stations to maintain genetic purity in warm-season grass trials.

Cassie earned a Master of Science in Agronomy with a focus in Turfgrass Science from Texas A&M University. She additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy with a minor in Precision Agricultural Systems Management from The Ohio State University.
